Tonkin Garden
Far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life, Tam Coc Garden, nestled amidst rice fields, is a jewel of hospitality, gastronomy and romanticism, harmoniously intertwined with local farm life.
Villagers from the Red River Delta have always been self-sufficient and in the fertile plains, farmers have traditionally had gardens around their houses for growing an abundance of fruits and vegetables for their domestic needs and consumption.
Private gardens, overflowing with a variety of crops such as tomatoes, eggplants, spinach, herbs, papayas, longans and jackfruits, were an inspiration to the owners of Tam Coc Garden who have dedicated a large area of the land to cultivate their own Tonkinese garden. This garden not only beautifies the eco-lodge surroundings, but also serves to provide fresh organic vegetables for the restaurant.
The gardeners of Tam Coc Garden cultivate a wide variety of plants and vegetables with care and love which allows a bucolic air to emerge from the garden...not to mention the aromatic herbs which give a scent to our homemade dishes.
Being amongst plants and flowers reminds us to live in the present moment, and connects us to other living things, all while allowing us to experience the restorative fullness of nature through the engagement of our senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste.
